Aimee Jordan

Aimee has over 7 years of investment experience and is an analyst for the Emerging Markets equity strategy. Aimee joined Northcape in 2023 and is in our Melbourne office.

Before joining Northcape, Aimee was an Analyst at Spheria Asset Management where she covered Global small cap companies and was also the Head ESG analyst across both the Australian and Global portfolios. Aimee was the lead analyst on 14 stocks in the portfolio at the time of her departure across consumer, industrials, and mining. Aimee started her career in Corporate Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where she covered ASX50 clients and undertook the Graduate training program in New York City.

Aimee holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and International Business) from The University of Sydney.

Oliver Johansson

Oliver has 7 years investment experience and is a research analyst for the Emerging Markets Equity strategy. Oliver joined Northcape in 2019 and is in our Melbourne office.

Before joining Northcape, Oliver was at BCA Research in the role of Sales and Support Representative. He had direct exposure to BCA’s world-class macroeconomic strategists and clients, ranging from sovereign wealth funds, superannuation funds, fund managers, wealth managers and high net worth investors.  Oliver began his financial markets career in 2018 as an intern with Northcape where he assisted the Emerging Markets team with administrative duties, executive travel arrangements and took part in the co-ordination of company meetings and focused investment discussions.

Oliver holds both a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) from Swinburne University. He has lived in Japan for several years and speaks Japanese fluently.

Cameron Robson

Cameron has over 15 years investment experience and is a portfolio manager and analyst for the Emerging Markets equity strategy. Cameron joined Northcape in September 2014 and is in our Melbourne office.

Before joining Northcape, Cameron was an Associate at a family office based in Malaysia where he advised on public and private equity focussed on the Asian region. Previously an Associate in Equity Research at Deutsche Bank in Malaysia and Singapore, he covered a number of sectors and also produced Malaysia and ASEAN Strategy research. At Deutsche Bank, he was involved in the pre-deal research stage for some of Malaysia’s largest IPOs over 2011-2013.

Cameron holds a Master of Business (Finance with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Economics) from the University of Otago, NZ. He is a CFA® Charterholder.

Douglas Ayton

Douglas has over 38 years investment experience and is portfolio manager and analyst for the Emerging Markets equity strategy. Douglas joined Northcape in 2014 and is in our Melbourne office.

Before joining Northcape, Douglas worked at Lloyd George Management in their Hong Kong office for five years from 2007 to 2011. During his time at Lloyd George Management, Douglas was a Senior Portfolio Manager in which he researched and executed equity investment decisions in the Asian region, meeting with corporate management and undertaking regional travel as part of the investment process and was a member of the company’s Hong Kong executive committee. Previously, Douglas worked with Maple-Brown Abbott for fourteen years concentrating on the Australian equity market with portfolio management and research analysis responsibility, in addition to being appointed an Executive Director of the company. His experience has also included tenures with DBSM Funds Management and Rothschild Australia Asset Management rounding out his investment management career that commenced in 1986.

Douglas holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University and is a CFA® Charterholder.

Tom Pidgeon

Tom has over 22 years investment experience and is portfolio manager and analyst for the Emerging Markets equity strategy. Tom joined Northcape in 2011 and is in our Melbourne office.

Tom has had significant investment management experience prior to joining Northcape. He co-founded boutique investment company Atrium Investment Management in 2009, where he managed Australian equity portfolios. Prior to this Tom joined Hong Kong based investment manager PMA Investment Advisors in 2006. At PMA Tom was responsible for managing the Australian equity portfolio, as well as providing research input for the Asian equity portfolio. Tom began his career in financial markets in 2001 with Capital Partners (now CP2). During his time at CP2 Tom researched a broad selection of Australian equities across various industry sectors.

Prior to becoming an equity analyst, Tom worked as a civil engineer in Australia, Indonesia the Middle East and Europe. Tom holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), a Bachelor of Engineering with 1st class Honours and Bachelor of Science from The University of Western Australia.

Ross Cameron

Ross has over 18 years investment experience and is portfolio manager and analyst for the Emerging Markets equity strategy. Ross joined Northcape in 2009, and since then has worked in Melbourne, Tokyo and Sydney.

Before joining Northcape, Ross spent 3 years working with Capital Partners (now CP2). During his time as an analyst for Capital Partners’ concentrated international equities fund, Ross covered a broad range of sectors including financials, industrials and infrastructure. Prior to joining the investment industry Ross taught Decision Analysis in the School of Operations Management and Econometrics at the University of Sydney.

Ross holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, Japanese Studies) degree from the University of Sydney, and worked for six years in Tokyo in addition to roles in London and Australia. Ross is fluent in Japanese.

Patrick Russel

Patrick has over 35 years investment experience and is portfolio manager and analyst for the Emerging Markets equity strategy. Patrick is a Director of Northcape joining in 2008 and is in our Melbourne office.

Before joining Northcape, Patrick worked at Merrill Lynch for 18 years from 1989 to 2007. At Merrill Lynch, Patrick was a Managing Director, within the Global Emerging Markets research team, and was head of the Asia Pacific Telecom and Media research team, based in Melbourne. This involved extensive travel and researching of emerging market companies across North and South Asia, Australasia and the sub-continent. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Patrick worked for Kleinwort Benson (London) and as an equity analyst and prior to that for the New Zealand Government (Wellington), Department of Trade and Industry, as an Econometrician.

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Economics) from the University of Canterbury (Lincoln College, NZ), and has completed post graduate studies in Developing Country Economics (University of Victoria, NZ) and Investment Analysis (University of Otago, NZ).
